"Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?'
Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?'
Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?'
But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?'
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right."

Hughie, thank you for taking the time to post a comment. Let me address the issue you raise point by point;

1) I am not supporting 43 state of the art hospitals across the country and have never said this. What I do support is "urgent care" facilities within 1 hours drive of anywhere in this country. These facilities would not be fully equipped hospitals. They would be facilities where people with life threatening illnesses or injuries could be diagnosed, treated and stabilised before being transported to fully equipped hospitals. I believe that a system like this would actually lower the number of required fully equipped hospitals while improving the quality and availability of care. This is part of a national strategy that is part of my agenda and I am NOT trying to win votes by only promising improvements for Nenagh hospital. However by proxy such an national system would also improve the A&E facility at Nenagh hospital.
As for the pictures taken at Borrisokane school, I actually was never invited to this (unlike all other candidates) and just happened to be there with a friend. While do not claim to have anything to do with the improvements at this school I do support it happening. I know that Michael Lowry claims this as one achievements but I would suspect he would claim responsibility for the sun shining if it was a nice day tomorrow.

2) I fully agree with you on this. We need an alignment between welfare payments and minimum wage creates an incentive for people to return to the workplace. However we also have to consider that there currently aren't enough jobs in Ireland and that people still have to survive. However people should not receive more in benefits than they do when in employment.

3) Agreed. However I only decided to run two weeks ago. I also am running on a shoe-string budget which does not allow for lost of posters or flyers.

Again, thank you for your comments and I hope I can count on your vote on Friday!
